Indonesian's Hot Eggplants Dish

Beginning of Spring my husband prepared a small garden for me , thought will be fun to grow own veggie and cook food which is come from own yard. At that time we were not too serious to plant many kind of vegetables. We just choose some seeds that we like , such : eggplant, cucumber, tomatoes and off course bird chilly (Capsicum frutescens) .

Today some of vegetables grow so good . Unfortunately not for chili *yups..!! my husband just laughing when I cry for my poor chili ^_^ . He hate chili so bad .

It was so funny because me and my husband come from different country so I cooked a different kind of eggplant dish. And when dinner time come everybody happy with own favorite dish :-)

We just happy with our garden, and plan to make a bigger than today for next year. As I can say, not only my husband worked hard for that garden but my 2 years old daughter too ^_^

she's dancing during the working time :-)

And this is my entry for Event "GROW YOUR OWN" hosting by Bee & Jai From JUGALBANDI, one of my Indonesian favorite dish , and will posting another eggplant dish next time

Orange-Currant Scones

A scottish quick bread, scones may have derived their name from the stone of destiny (or Scone), the place where Scottish Kings were once crowned. Other sources claim that the word comes from schoonbrot or sconbrot, meaning "fine white bread".

Scones were traditionally made with oats and cooked on a griddle, while modern version are generally prepared with flour and baked in the oven.

Hmmm, let's forget about the history of scone now .. just prepare your ingredients and start baking, and than you will find why this recipes so simply and delicious off course..

Orange-Currant Scones

315 g all purpose flour

60 gr sugar

3 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

125 gr chilled un-salted butter, cut into small pieces

100 gr currants

1 egg

125 ml heavy cream

zest of 1 orange

granulated sugar for sprinkling

Preheat an oven 350 F / 180 C. Lightly grease a mini scone pan

In the bowl of a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and pulse to combine. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture resembles pea-size crumbs. Transfer to a large bowl, add the currants and stir to mix.

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, heavy cream and orange zest until blended and add to the flour mixture. Using a fork, stir to form large, moist clumps of dough.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and press together, with your hands until the dough comes together. Roll out the dough, flouring as needed, into a 23 cm square about 2 cm thick. Cut into 4 equal-size squares, the cut each square diagonally into 4 triangles. Press each triangles into a well of the prepared pan. Springkle each scone lighlty with sugar. Bake until the scones are golden, about 25 minute.

Invert the pan onto a wire rack and lift off the pan. Let the scone cool for minutes before serving.

Note :

If you don't have any scone pan, you still can make a pretty scone as you like. You just need to roll up the dough and using any kind of cookie cutter or just make like a simply bread.

Studio "alam(i)"

My beloved friend, Dita bring "Studio" as the topic for her's event -Home Food Photography#3-. Not a real studio, but your favorite spot to take a picture most. And this time I would like to tell story behind all my pictures in Bahasa .

Yak.., segera dimulai pembicaraan seputar studio. Nah, klo dah masuk winter gimana dwoonk .. ?? iya ntar cari akal lagi biar dapet foto bagus yaa.. heheheh..

Nah skalian proses gue ngambil foto gimana sebetulnya ? hayoo..buka kartu skarang,

*proses mengamati*

Happy Bakers .. !!

A couple days ago I've been chit chat with one of my best friends Ms.Dhita Beechey - didn't know how long we've been talked until she's mention about friendship.

What is friendship ? Searching for the meaning of friendship has always been a burning question. However as soon as we meet our friends all these questions get answered automatically. The answer to what is the meaning of friendship lies within our hearts, because true friendship can only be felt, and not expressed. Something so pure and essential is not always visible to the eye, but is felt by the heart .

Being friends means being there for each other at all times, whether it's good or bad. A friend needs to be very understanding and give each other the benefit of the doubt. Ideally the meaning of friendship is sharing unconditional love for each other. However this is not an ideal world; therefore some form of expectations are allowed, but that has a limit too. The purpose and meaning of friendship is to make life's burdens lighter for our friends and not make them heavier.

Now back to my topic above, the end of our conversation she gave me this logo

she said why we didn't make something fun about friendship ? she put those logo in her blog which is link to my blog, and mine will link to other's friend. That is fun .. !!

Yeah.. if in the real world you can hold your friend hand or give a big hug to show your love, here's in the cyber world we can make a friend with a simply way like this and just imagine if that link back to you ???. Seem, we make a circle of friends.

Therefore, this time I am passing the baton to my friends , Dwiana from The Adventure of My Cooking Diary Hey Girl.. this is for you and I will send the code for you girl, *wow.. it's look like secret games and wait until Dwi give this code to somebody else..
